Stash Busting 2010 - Week 13

I'm a little late, but finally back to the stash report! Really, I waited yesterday because I am so close to a couple of finishes, I thought I might have something to report, but no luck. The day got late and I didn't finish anything.

Last Monday I finished another Dear Jane block shown above. I have another one half way finished, so I'm rolling right along with those at the moment. The bits of time I have during class are great for this project. I don't want anyone to see the class projects before they are ready, so I can't work on those there.
In the weeks that I didn't post a stash report, I bought 2 yards of white for one of the class projects, then yesterday I bought 2 yards for borders also for class projects. For the most part I just have borders left, so I'm really close to calling all that fabric busted!! In the mean time, I've fallen the "wrong way" in the stash report. Not for long, though!!

Fabric added this week: 4.00 yards
Fabric used this week: 0.00 yards

Fabric added this year: 8.50 yards
Fabric used this year: 5.75 yards

Total stash busted this year: -2.75 yards

Things of Inspiration and Interest 03/23/10

In my travels around the blogosphere, I have found some really interesting things. There are a lot of people doing great things out there! Unfortunately, I usually cannot find my way back to these websites after I leave them. In an effort to keep track of these things and to share them with you, I'm going to just make a quick post and link to them as I find them.

First up, a blog project by Lisa Congdon called "A Collection a Day, 2010", where she posts a picture of a collection of items every day in 2010. The collections are as fascinating to me as is the fact that she does this daily. As in Every. Single. Day.

I can't link to a picture, so you'll have to hop over there to check it out!

National Quilting Day 2010

I'm back! I couldn't let National Quilting Day go by without posting! I've been a little out of sorts since posting last. I got that nasty head cold that seems to be going around lately. After I got over that I went through a couple of weeks of just generally not feeling well -- very tired and low energy to the point of not being able to get much done other than work. I feel like I'm finally out of that funk and coming back to life. Right now I'm scrambling to get my projects ready for the next session of my quilting class which starts next month. I have one quilt that just needs borders, a table runner top that needs quilting and finishing, and another twin sized top that I'm a little farther behind on. I have all of the smaller units made and I need to assemble the blocks and then put those together. Yikes!

I did put together a Dear Jane block in class last week, and I'm really happy with it (see picture above). It is C3, and I foundation pieced it. It is a pretty straightforward block that I could have pieced the traditional way, but I like the accuracy of the foundation piecing, so I did it that way. I have another DJ block that is partially made, so maybe I'll be showing that one soon!

It's getting late and we're going out for burgers later (at my favorite burger joint) so I better get some sewing done before National Quilting Day is over!!
